Prologue
Sweet children rest thy eyes
For mother Nut is watching from her skies
Father Geb gives you strength
Conserve it in your sleep
My dear children
Go to sleep
Let your mind rest for Tehuti's teachings
For he is your Teacher
Let your mind be filled with dreams
Of Sands, and Pyramids, Pharaohs and Queen
My darling children, mother is watching you
Up from her skies
So sleep my daughter and son, and close you Egyptian eyes...
Surugi sang softly to the two children in her arms, her children. Locks of orchid purple hair fell over her face as she sand the two to sleep. Her soft hazel eyes watched her son and daughter as they slept. The white haired girl breathed softly as she slept, while her red headed brother squirmed restlessly. She set them in their cradle, and stroked the small boys head.
"Rest Set, my little boy. All's well." She said softly as she watched her son calm down. She sighed in happiness, and in despair. Wondering where her husband was, and why it took him so long to return home. She soon fell asleep on the ground, next to her children’s cradles.
Chapter 1
Surugi sighed as she watched her children race off to school. She was a young mother, at the age of 36, with two children of the age 15. "Set, Nephthys don’t make any trouble at school! I don’t want anymore calls home, got it Set?”
“Yes Mother.” He sighed as he ran after his sister Nephthys. Surugi named them after the Egyptian god and goddess Set and Nephthys, who were brother and sister, and husband and wife. Ryou walked up behind her and placed his hand on her shoulder.
“Don’t worry, they’re good kids, being that you’re the mother.” He smiled. She felt herself blushing.
“Your right Ryou. Now I have to go with Mai to do sister stuff.” She smiled and walked off, her Millennium Scepter in her hand.
Ryou, or should I say Bakura, went back into the house. A portal to the shadow realm opened and he stepped in.
“Where were you?” A familiar voice asked.
“Saying bye to my children Marik.” Bakura said angrily.
“You have children? In a million years!”
“But it has been a million years since I’ve been locked up in that Millennium ring. So I have a right to be a father.” He grinned as Marik glared. Bakura knew that Marik hated losing to others.
“I have a new plan for getting the Egyptian god cards and all the Millennium Items.”
“I don’t care Marik. All your plans fail, and I have family to think of now.”
“You dare defy me Bakura?” Marik yelled furiously. He pulled out his Millennium Rod and blasted Bakura with a powerful surge of magic. Bakura went flying back, but stood up. He shot a beam of magic twice as strong back at Marik.
(Authors note: Magic fight! You just gotta love it!)
This continued on, both bloody and bruised. Surugi stepped into the shadow realm, looking angry.
“You two are like children! How immature! Just because Bakura isn’t your slave anymore isn’t a reason to attack him with magic, and Bakura! Just because Marik shot you with his magic, doesn’t mean you return the hit! Your full grown men, and your still acting like children!” Marik and Bakura looked down, trying to hide their fear. When Surugi was mad, you’re done for. Surugi grabbed them by their hair and dragged them from the shadow realm. She let go as they entered her living room.
“If you two are going to act like children, you’ll be treated like children!”
“So your going to act like our mom and nurture and love us?” Marik asked.
“No! I will be more of a Bastet like mother. I will discipline you when you get in trouble, fix something that you do wrong, and protect you when you need protecting. Got it?”
“yes…” They both looked down.
Surugi smiled. “So are you going to act like children?”
“No.” They both said, looking back up.
“Good, now I’m leaving to pick up Set and Nephthys from school. So behave!”
Chapter 2
Set and Nephthys walked around the schoolyard with their friends. Yami, Yugi’s son, Getsuna and Allen, Mai and Joey’s children, and Adrian, Tristan and Serenity’s son. Nephthys glared at Set.
“Why did you have to go and get yourself suspended? And plus, why did you attack that boy?”
“Because he was staring at you like he wanted something from you.” Set looked at her.
